Knotted & Unknotted Restringing
We offer both knotted and unknotted restringing, depending on the style of your jewellery and your personal preference.
Knotted Restringing
Traditionally, pearl necklaces are individually knotted between each pearl or bead. This helps prevent the pearls from rubbing together, reducing wear and protecting their surface. Individual knots also help stop the entire strand from scattering if the thread is ever damaged.
Unknotted Restringing
Some bead necklaces and modern jewellery are designed without knots, creating a clean, continuous appearance. We can restring these pieces while maintaining their original style.
Clasp Replacement & Alterations

Our Restringing Process
To ensure your jewellery receives the highest standard of workmanship, we work with a trusted professional threader based in Christchurch who specialises in pearl and bead restringing. Because each piece is individually restrung by hand, the process typically takes up to three weeks to complete. We'll carefully inspect your jewellery before it is sent away and contact you once it has been safely returned to our workshop, ready for collection.
